The best rewards systems create the conditions for brilliance.
I'm Kaylo Greenwell — a fractional Total Rewards and HR systems leader for high-growth companies. I redesign compensation programs, HRIS environments, and HR operating models — with embedded AI as the through-line.
For more than a decade, I've built pay, equity, and people infrastructure at scale — most recently leading global compensation for 7,800 employees across seven countries. One pattern kept showing up: the technology now exists to permute through countless scenarios — pay equity remediation, market pricing, equity dilution, band design — in real time. And the same shift is opening up the rest of HR: talent, performance, employee experience, the HRIS layer underneath. What's missing inside most companies isn't the tooling. It's a partner with the depth to know what to build, the judgment to know what matters, and the hands to actually ship it.
That's the work I do. I get in, diagnose what's actually broken, build the plan, and go deep on execution — pairing Claude as my reasoning partner with Python for custom modeling, alongside whatever HRIS and analytics tools you already run on. Underneath all of it, the part that decides whether anything actually lands: earning trust with executives, HRBPs, and the people whose pay is on the line.
If you're a CHRO, CPO, or founder building toward your next stage — and you want a partner who moves fast, models rigorously, and stays close to the humans on the other end of every decision — let's talk.
Beyond the practice
I'm an Adjunct Professor at San Diego State University, where I teach International HR Management — which puts me in front of the next generation of HR leaders and keeps me honest about how this work is changing.
I also serve on the Board of The Arc of San Diego, chairing the HR Committee. The Arc supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across San Diego County. The teaching keeps me sharp; the board work keeps me grounded.
